Putin's Left Fan Club: An Annoying Contradiction

I must apologize: The Crimea is not mostly Russian (see "Krims Krams"). It's still a multi-ethnical region (with about 60% Russians) - there is no Mostly-Something-Else.

I must also apologize: Of course the Russian people have “balls” (which see "Fuck The East"). For example those who are protesting against the Regime (Yes, even this artist in St. Petersburg still got them). Not to forget the activists from Pussy Riot.
I generalized. It's the very same I accused someone else of, just yesterday. The rumble has begun. Some of my left-wing political contacts in the Social Media always had problems with criticism against Vlad “Naked Bear” Putin.

There is not enough to write than I want to throw up

I do not have time for all the details... I mean, there is not enough to write than I want to throw up these days... The facts are clear. Except of course for those “news” an obvious propaganda machinery under command of the Russian government burbs in our faces. Mahlzeit!

Despite every facts, there is a group of wannabe-lefts who constantly supports Putin – more indirect, but not subtle. Most of them keep saying they dislike him, maybe even disapprove of his actions. For they know the truth. And they still want to see themselves as democratic people. None of them wants to live in Putin's Russia instead of the EU.
But they keep withholding the details of his wrongful acts, while digging up the slightest rumor about any misdeed of his opponents; while ignoring the reasonable attempts of the Ukrainian people to live like they do...

The “evil” wealth of the EU

And they live in the “evil” wealth of the EU and its imperialistic friends, US and NATO. No word about imperialism a la Russia. When Putin is invading another country, he's just protecting Russians. So he's saying. So they say.
Armed troops without national emblem? They could be bandits. Maybe they are. But about whom the Putin leftys agree to call them terrorists? Protesters for democracy and against corruption.

At least the front lines are clear now (we are surrounded by idiots)

I was always concerned about the extreme right who sabotages this hopeful project we call European Union. I still am. But there is also a big problem with parts of the extreme left.
Not only they are disturbing important political attempts of “moderate” (rational) left groups, rendering every serious socialistic issue into jokes and conspiracy theories (Even in sleepy Austria!). Now they are even supporting a well known dictator, I guess, because he's satisfying their macho-dreams of an socialistic, testosterone fueled world power.

Finally crushing capitalism! Even if it means to carry the propaganda of corrupt oligarchs who steal from the working class? Even if it means following the shadow of pseudo socialism, of tyranny? Some of these sick lefts even glorifying the days of Stalin.
Than they deny, without telling why, without distancing from those they admit to be bad people. And than they glorifying them again. Or at least making them appear harmless.

Who are these people?

Are this (more or less) secret fans of Vladimir “Sweet Tits” Putin just reversed Fascists? It's not that simple. With single members of this left extremism I share some values, views, standpoints. Only Putin, the role of the Soviet Union and the methods of left hooliganism divides us.
While there are only a few opinions of common sense I can share with right-wing extremists. Everyone likes clean water.

The extreme right (in it's many forms) is still enemy number one (within the dualistic political landscape). And of course there is also a big threat from EU citizens who earn a lot of money with Putin in charge (also in Austria). But I tend to criticize much stronger what's more important to me. And that's the left (in it's many more forms), even when they have lost their mind.

These people are suffering – platonically spoken – and they just happen to be politically left orientated... and very bothersome.

No excuses anymore (not even for my bad English)

There have been right extremists with the Euromaidan and there are different rightwing parties in the Verkhovna Rada. But they are not alone there. They do not speak or stand for all the revolutionaries. They do not rule the Ukraine. The people can criticize them publicly without public punishment.

Not so in Russia. Not so with Putin. His dictatorship rules alone. His people can't doubt him without being punished. He sends unidentifiable troops without stating his intention.
The people at the Maidan have declared themselves very well. No matter which flaws some might find in them – or in the EU or in the USA for that matter – they are democratic. The Russian regime is not. Dixi.

PS: I think now, that a warlike conflict - initiated by the West - is the best thing Putin can happen, if the separation of Crimea would fail. Everything else would question his aggressiveness so far.
